~ Rupert Adams

(Abundance Community Farm & Kairos Botanicals)

Rupert has been growing food, medicinal herbs and seeds for nearly 2 decades, through intentional communities, and organic and bio-dynamic farms. He’s spent many of those years working with Dan Jason and Salt Spring Seeds http://www.saltspringseeds.com . He was a regional co-ordinator and advisor to the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security http://www.seedsecurity.ca/en/, looking at ways to increase the production and quality of ecologically grown seeds in Canada. Rupert recently move to Abundance Community Farm, where he is growing a wide variety of vegetable, grain and medicinal herb seeds, and runs a small medicinal herb and tincture business Kairos Botanicals.

Dan has written over a dozen books on seed saving and organic agriculture, including his most recent, “Changing the Climate with the Seeds We Sow”. He has run Salt Spring Seeds for 33 years. Dans mission “has always been to encourage people to grow their own food and medicine.”

Planting Seeds Project is caretaker of an amazing diversity of heirloom and heritage open pollinated seeds. We farm acreage near the village of Lytton, isolated from contaminants, with clean air, clean water, continuous hearty winds, and clean soil.

Circle discussion on how to become involved in a community seed bank to create seed security and sovereignty.

• Potluck item to share on Saturday night

• All other food and personal items you need to be comfortable for the weekend

There is a community kitchen available for your use to prepare food. There are washrooms and showers on site for your comfort.

Please DO NOT bring your dog. If you are in the workshop you will not be able to provide the supervision a dog needs to be on the farm.
