~ Rupert Adams

(Abundance Community Farm & Kairos Botanicals)

Rupert has been growing food, medicinal herbs and seeds for nearly 2 decades, through intentional communities, and organic and bio-dynamic farms. He’s spent many of those years working with Dan Jason and Salt Spring Seeds http://www.saltspringseeds.com . He was a regional co-ordinator and advisor to the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security http://www.seedsecurity.ca/en/, looking at ways to increase the production and quality of ecologically grown seeds in Canada. Rupert recently move to Abundance Community Farm, where he is growing a wide variety of vegetable, grain and medicinal herb seeds, and runs a small medicinal herb and tincture business Kairos Botanicals.

Dan has written over a dozen books on seed saving and organic agriculture, including his most recent, “Changing the Climate with the Seeds We Sow”. He has run Salt Spring Seeds for 33 years. Dans mission “has always been to encourage people to grow their own food and medicine.”

/// SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC \\\

~ AppleCat

"Internationally acclaimed electronic musician, and vocalist; AppleCat was raised on the West-Coast of Canada, specializing in Deep Dubstep, Fairytale Bass, Trap, and Worldbeat. On the dancefloor, she weaves a mythic underworld vibe - stating that her intention is to " have us all come out the other side moved in some way - the kind of movement that is far beyond being solely physical."

Poetry and grime, with live mashup & reworks, AppleCat blends cinematic sound, with primal bass. This cosmic booty bouncing dubwitch sets bend the perception of "genre" exemplifying her unparalleled "je ne sais quoi.”

AppleCat is also the focus of a feature documentary about women in electronic music ‘Amplify Her’, released worldwide in 2017. http://www.amplifyher.com/
